Steven started his professional career as a musician and educator in multiple school districts in Houston and Austin, TX. From teaching music lessons to running rehearsals and masterclasses, he always urged his students to practice perfection. After five years of teaching, he decided to to pursue a career in electrical and computer engineering, and his love for data drove him to complete the Galvanize Data Science Immersive. Steven is currently a data engineer with Civitas Learning. He joined the company because he felt connected with their mission of using data to help universities help their students graduate. Outside of working hours, Steven loves to travel. His most recent travel adventure took him to the Great Barrier Reef where he went scuba diving at night with sharks!
