Srikanta Patra currently works as freelance Data Scientist and coach in Australia. He has twenty-five years of experience in software development and data science industry.

Over last five years, he has coached more than 250 full-time students and 100 part-time students. His data career predominantly spans across consumer retail, banking risk analytics, natural language processing. He has worked for many prestigious clients such as Walmart, PepsiCo, TESCO. His experience in working across diverse clients/platforms and diverse geographies such as USA, UK, France, India and Australia give him the ability to coach and groom students from various backgrounds.

Sri is an Electronics and Computer Science graduate with a passion for teaching. Early in his career, he spent a significant amount of time teaching data analysis to management graduates. Recently, he was involved in coaching McKinsey consultants from APAC region. He is also involved in an educational project with Govt. of Malaysia to help the university graduates be data and analytics savvy and launch their career in data analytics industry.

If Sri is not involved in teaching or solving data science challenges, he can be found in an Australian beach or building electronics circuits for Internet of Things (IOT) with his hobby groups in Sydney.

In recognition of his exemplary service in the classroom, Sri has been selected as a member of General Assembly's Distinguished Faculty program. He serves as a member of General Assembly’s Data Science Advisory Board.
