    Spencer Lucker is industry engagement manager for the Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development and Detroit at Work, the City’s workforce development system. He works with employers and training providers across Metro Detroit to increase opportunities for Detroiters to compete for quality jobs and build sustainable careers. Part of his portfolio is the City’s TechHire initiative that seeks to strengthen IT career pathways for Detroiters.

    Spencer joined Detroit’s workforce ecosystem two years ago shortly after he and his wife moved to Detroit from Washington, DC. He previously worked for the Delta Regional Authority (DRA), a federal agency focused on regional economic and community development across eight states in the Southern U.S. While at DRA, he worked on state and regional workforce strategy and entrepreneurship ecosystem building. Whether it’s across the country, state, other side of town, Spencer loves a good road trip and looking for local food along the way.
