Melbourne
Spencer Harrison is a graphic artist, designer and illustrator based in Melbourne, Australia. Behind his energetic and vivid creations is a playful imagination and fascination with daydreams, adventures, nature and fun.
Perpetually immersed in a side-project, his current obsession with repeat patterns has manifested as Rhythm and Repeat, a weekly illustration project dedicated to creating unique patterns for textile and print. Previously, he created the daily illustration project MNML Thing and has produced an array of handcrafted ceramics and leather products. Such explorations have led to partnerships with brands, designers and homeware producers.
Before becoming a graphic artist, Harrison co-founded the design studio Pennant. His appetite for collaboration has not ceased and he continues to work closely with brands, companies and passionate individuals. With degrees in Nanotechnology and Visual Communication, he brings a unique blend of equal parts analytical and creative thinking with a dash of fun.
His work has garnered numerous awards including the Newstar Print Trust Award at agIdeas in 2010 and has been featured in several design publications. Learning from the best at design studios such as Pentagram (NY) and MASH (Australia), Spencer passes on his knowledge and inspiration through teaching creative workshops and guest lecturing.
