Sonia Lakhany is the managing attorney of Lakhany Law, PC, a boutique intellectual property law firm that focuses on trademark and copyright protection. In addition to her law practice, Sonia is an instructor at the Trademark Institute of Training and speaks regularly on intellectual property under the name "Lady Lanham, Esq" (a word play on The Lanham Act, which is the federal law that gives trademark protection in the United States).
Over the course of her career, Sonia has helped numerous startups and small- and medium-sized businesses secure trademark protection for their names, logos, and taglines. Her work has been recognized and featured in numerous magazine and news articles as well as on radio and television interviews. Most recently, she was awarded "Best Personal Brand of 2015" by the Technology Association of Georgia.
Sonia Lakhany is an active member of the IP Section of the Georgia Bar and serves on the Community Outreach Committee. The Community Outreach Committee focuses on disseminating information about IP law and issues to non-IP lawyers and business people.
Sonia holds a law degree from Emory Law School and has completed coursework in a Masters of Law in Intellectual Property program at George Washington University Law School. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California.
