Sibel is Head of Strategy and Partnership at BrickX – a startup that allows all Australian’s to invest in residential property with as little as $50.
BrickX buys properties and turns them into 10,000 Bricks (fractions of the property). Individual investors are then able to buy the Bricks (starting from $34), with the ability to sign up and purchase in under 5 minutes. Brick Owners earn net rental income every month, as well as potential capital returns if the value of the property changes. BrickX has had particularly strong traction with the millennial demographic who feel that home ownership is increasingly out of reach as well as baby boomers who want to diversify their assets and their SMSFs. BrickX recently raised a $9m Series A led NAB and Reinventure Fund.
Prior to joining BrickX, Sibel was on the investing team at Reinventure - one of Australia’s largest Venture Capital Funds with backing from Westpac. She has spent most of her career working with startups particularly in the FinTech industry.
