Shawn Stewart is an Engineering Leader at Gusto whose humble beginnings as a Jamaican immigrant and college drop-out, built a successful career as a self-taught software engineer with over 15 software patents, credited with building some of the flagship products you use from CBS, Fidelity Investments, LinkedIn and Ultimate Software. He is currently focused on illuminating the hidden genius in people from under-represented groups and normalizing conversations around the realities of non-traditional professionals, single parents, and diverse perspectives incorporate spaces. Shawn is a father of three beautiful children, whom he co-parents with his ex-wife from a 20-year marriage, while balancing the demands of leadership in a pre-IPO startup, investing in his passions, and traveling the world.
