Shawn is a self-taught software engineer, originally with a business degree. His story began with a startup he founded to make writing more accessible and fun for everyone. Learning how to design and scale this website brought him towards a career in software engineering, a craft he truly enjoys up till this day.
Shawn was engineer #4 in Carousell, built and scaled their web application from Singapore to the rest of South-East Asia. Later on, Shawn built from scratch high profile projects in several large companies (Zendesk, AXA, Standard Chartered). Currently, Shawn is a Principal Software Engineer / Architect at Traveloka, an unicorn-level startup in Indonesia. His day to day activities span across multiple business units.
