Scott grew up in Reno, NV and enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2007. Scott served in multiple overseas locations on active duty ranging from the U.S. Embassies in Pakistan, Sudan, Kenya, and Italy to military bases in Japan, Kuwait, the Philippines, and Thailand. In 2012, as a Staff Sergeant, Scott transitioned to the Marine Corps Reserve to finish a B.A. at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. As a student Scott joined Veterans Campaign, a Veterans service organization dedicated to encouraging, mentoring and preparing veterans for a "second service" in civic leadership. In this position, he provided digital strategy support while designing and building their website using the Squarespace platform. Upon graduating he accepted a commission and returned to the Marine Corps Reserve as a 2nd Lieutenant. Scott joined Heartland Consulting and while looking to establish a set of "hard skills" in the field of web development, enrolled in General Assembly’s Web Development Immersive program. As a senior consultant, he applied his web development skills to client projects at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Defense Health Agency. Scott currently serves as a 1st Lieutenant in the Marine Corps Reserve as an Air Defense Control Officer, runs his own freelance company Pierce-Wrobel LLC, and resides in Washington, D.C. with his wife.
