Sara Batterby is the CEO and Founder of the Equity Capital Collective (EqCo), which offersfundraising insight and education to founders who have not traditionally had access to capital.
EqCo delivers the first technically sophisticated and emotionally intelligent early-stage fundraising methodology designed specifically for marginalized founders. It draws on Sara’s 20+ years founding and funding startups, co-founding an angel fund in Silicon Valley with the first truly data-driven portfolio strategy for investing in female entrepreneurs, and finally moving North and building Oregon’s largest professional network for cannabis founders who had been excluded from access to formal skills training and capital through the injustice of prohibition.
Sara has been recognized for her work as an executive, and as an advocate for equity by the Portland Business Journal, winning Executive to Watch in 2017 and Woman of Influence in 2019. She teaches and speaks nationwide on fundraising and equity in capital and teaches the Equity Capital Masterclass online to founders nationwide.
