Ryan is a creative educator always seeking new ways to empower students to reach their goals and grow as people. Before transitioning to teach immersive web development in 2017, he taught at colleges in Alaska and Illinois since 2009, and has an MA in English from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. His teaching style combines empathy and humor to keep students engaged and comfortable throughout their stressful journey to become web developers.
In recognition of his exemplary service in the classroom, Ryan has been selected as a member of General Assembly's Distinguished Faculty program. Ryan serves as a member of the GA Software Engineering Product Advisory Board, and has developed curriculum for Computer Science and Bootcamp Prep lessons for GA.
