Ruth has spent the past two years conducting NLP research at Spotify. She's currently on sabbatical for the summer, after which she's moving to a natural language processing and machine learning role at Google. At Spotify, Ruth worked on building a better podcast recommendation experience and launching the Spotify Voice search feature. She has a PhD in Linguistics from MIT and is broadly interested in how to represent and understand language as a computational system. She is particularly interested in the spaces where linguistics and computer science overlap, including questions about how humans and computers can use natural language to communicate with one another.
