Russell is a Chief Technologist with Booz Allen Hamilton in the Aerospace Client Account. With over 20 years of professional experience within the Federal Government space, Russell is instrumental in leading and supporting business development across the Department of Defense. Senior Leaders, market peers, and clients convey their respect for Russell, and he has built long-standing relationships within the Firm and among clients. With an extensive history associated with smart card and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) implementation, Russell was responsible for testing the foundational capabilities of technologies throughout the Department of the Navy and Army. He is an established thought leader in the information technology arena focusing on capabilities such as smart card, PKI, Information Technology (IT) Governance, IT Portfolio Management, Enterprise Architecture, Software Development, Cloud Operations within the DoD client space. Russell has provided various presentations for technical industry events and is a recognized speaker at several National Guard and Army IT events including National Guard Bureau Joint Information Technology Conference, Army Common Access Card Program Management Conference, and the Army LandWarNet where he is requested to serve on panels as a subject matter expert.
As a recipient of Booz Allen Hamilton’s Value in Practice Award (VIP), Russell was highlighted for his impeccable focus on client management and ability to successfully harness and elevate his team to navigate complex and deeply detailed IT projects. His leadership of the account portfolio and contributions to thought leadership elevated ideas and solution sets positioning the firm for growth in several account sectors. Russell is also an active member of Booz Allen Hamilton’s African American Network engaging in activities as a senior staff member.
Within the community, Russell serves as a role model, leader, and mentor to the youth in several surrounding communities and through his church activities providing him with an opportunity to spend time with the youth in an informal setting and serve as a critical mentor for many. Russell is active in his church as a minister and established a program to assist teenagers in their development. The program enabled youth to enhance their socialization skills, deal with real life issues, and excel in academics. Russell also is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and is the 1st Vice President of the Omicron Zeta Sigma (OZS) chapter. As the former Director of Bigger and Better Business (2013 – 2016) he led events to increase awareness related the Home Buying Process and Financial Management and Growth. Russell holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing and Minor in Spanish from Frostburg State University and received a Master of Science degree in Electronic Commerce from the University of Maryland University College.
