Roland Schwarm is Chief Data Strategist for University of Texas System's Institute for Transformational Learning, an innovation lab working with University of Texas partners to develop progressive technology and education solutions. Roland is a graduate of Colorado State University where he received his degree in Economics, with concentration on Applied Econometrics.
Before joining the University of Texas System, Roland was Principal Data Scientist at Helix education, where he guided data strategy for applications designed to improve the student enrollment experience. Prior to that he worked with Pearson Education, where he led the data collection, application and socialization efforts across a wide variety of educational contexts, including learning analytics, student risk modeling, academic outreach and instructional design. Roland is an authority on data in education both from an institution and corporate perspective, bringing over 20 years of experience and insight into the successful treatment of challenges they face.
