Mrs. Velez is an active member of the Bar in the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.  Ms. Velez is a resilient mid-career legal counsel with international experience in renewable energy, contract law, organizational integrity matters, grants management, public speaking, E-Discovery solutions and executive engagement development.  She provides legal services as Legal Counsel to Solena Group Corporation, a renewable energy company, and she is part of an original cast of members that took Solena from a growth company to a sustainable energy company with multiple waste gasification solution projects in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. 

 Mrs. Velez is also an associate at Fuentes Strategies LLC,  a boutique government relations and consulting firm in Washington, DC. For years she served as the Chair of the board for the Latino Economic Development Corporation in Washington DC and was also the Associate Director at the Grants Division of the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration in Washington D.C, where she served as a lead legislative liaison to more than 58 municipalities in Puerto Rico and over 200 non-profit organizations and Hispanic-based community organizations in the northeastern region.  Ms. Velez currently serves as a political analyst and CNN contributor. Ms. Velez is fluent in English and Spanish and conversant with Portuguese.
