Robert Krzyzanowski is the Director of Data Engineering at Avant. Initially he worked on the developer team building the main Ruby on Rails application, but soon transitioned to combining his knowledge of math and computer science by automating underwriting using cutting edge machine learning. Today he maintains and extends the existing infrastructure and works with a team of 20 data scientists. His academic background includes a Bachelor's Degree in math, computer science and physics and a PhD in pure mathematics.
