    Ritu Agarwal is the Robert H. Smith Dean’s Chair of Information Systems and Department Chair of DOIT at the Smith School of Business, University of Maryland. She is also the Founding Director of the Center for Health Information and Decision Systems at the Smith School. She has published over 100 articles in journals such as Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly and Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association along with contributions to major media outlets including the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and NPR. Professor Agarwal has worked with a number of Fortune 500 companies including Cisco Systems, Johnson and Johnson, and Pfizer. She currently serves on the Federal Advisory Council for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the NIH.
