Just out of college, Rick Johnson jumped head first into tech, working for Apple Computer. He eventually moved into FinTech as a software product manager during the heydays of the first dot-com boom. Over the past 16 years, he’s been a software product manager for companies big and small throughout the Bay Area.
As an Online Banking Channel Manager SVP at Bank of America, he managed teams of product managers responsible for much of the Webby Award winning consumer online banking platform. It was during his time as team lead for a group of product managers that he developed his love for training and mentoring first-time product managers.
Following his passion for non-profit work he recently spent a year at ZeroDivide.org, where he lead technology initiatives aimed at helping populations in underserved communities. He now spends his time teaching at General Assembly and managing online products for Wells Fargo.
As a teacher and perpetual student, Rick's teachings focus on the benefits of Lean and Agile product management methodologies, being a strong advocate for the customer, and crafting the fine art of persuasion.
Passionate about building products that delight it’s users and making a positive difference in the world, Rick has taken his skills and drive to the nonprofit sector. He’s currently developing digital products at ZeroDivide.org, a San Francisco based nonprofit dedicated to bringing technical solutions to underserved populations.
