    Rei Kawano is an entrepreneur and philanthropist with extensive international business experience spanning 5 countries. Born and raised in Indonesia to a family of animal lovers, Kawano’s passion for animal health and welfare began at an early age. In 2014, she founded and launched the MidPlaza Charitable Foundation, whose mission is to eradicate the spread of rabies in Bali, Indonesia. Kawano began her career in Tokyo as a venture capital analyst for GREE, Inc. before shifting her focus to product development as the head of special projects for MidPlaza Holdings, an Indonesia-based diversified company, where she launched brands and products across a variety of industries. Kawano earned a BS from Claremont McKenna College and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
