Qingqing Gan is a data scientist working for Microsoft. Since joining Microsoft in 2009, she has worked in different roles, including Applied Researcher, Software Development Engineer, and currently Data Scientist. She enjoyed finding the unknown in massive data sets and building algorithms to uncover new insights. During her time in Microsoft, she has worked on all sorts of big data-related projects, such as recommendation system on news headlines, user clustering, relevance and ranking, etc. Qingqing got her Ph.D. from New York University Tandon School of Engineering. Her research was focused on the fields of data mining, Web search engines, and machine learning. She has 14 years of hands-on experience in developing and applying machine learning and data mining algorithms to solve complex problems with massive and high-dimensional data sets.
