    Dr. Pragyansmita Nayak is the Chief Data Scientist at Hitachi Vantara Federal (HVF). She explores the "Art to the Science" while engaging with several challenging Data Engineering and Data Science projects largely in the space of Self-Service Analytics, Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) in the US Federal Goverment domain. She has over 22+ years of experience in software development and data science. She holds a Ph.D. in Computational Sciences and Informatics from GMU (Fairfax, VA) and her thesis focused on the application of Machine Learning techniques for galaxy redshift estimation. She has guest lectured at GMU and GWU and is the organizer of the NOVA Deep Learning meetup and DC Metro Pentaho User Group (PUG). She lives in DC Metro with her husband and enjoys cooking, travel and photography.
