Koo Ping Shung is an experienced Data Scientist with an MBA degree and accumulated more than 10 years of relevant experience. He is also a seasoned Trainer in Data Science as well having trained numerous professionals on Analytics.
Prior to this, he was the Analytics Practicum Manager for the Master of IT in Business (Analytics) programme at Singapore Management University. In this role, Koo managed the industrial relationship through projects and attachments. He advised companies on the type of Analytics project they can undertake and co-supervised numerous MITB Analytics Capstone Projects. He trained numerous professionals on Analytics and usage of SAS software from various companies and was a facilitator for IDA's Data Science MOOC Initiative.
Koo is presently a freelance trainer and consultant with the SAS Institute. He holds an adjunct position in SMU School of Information Systems and is an Associate with UniSIM. His strong passion and interest in Analytics can also be seen through his substantial involvement in Analytics interest groups being the co-founder of Datascience.SG and former Chairman of the SAS User Group Singapore Working Committee. He has spoken at various Data Science meetups.
