Phil Kaplin is the founder of Fandalism, a social network for musicians. Fandalism launched in January 2012 and has over 550,000 members. Philip is also the founder if music distribution service, DistroKid, which launched October 2013. Philip was previously founder & CEO of AdBrite, an internet advertising company with over $100M in revenue. He founded and sold several other companies including TinyLetter (acquired by MailChimp in 2011) and popular tech blog Fuckedcompany.com. Philip also co-founded Blippy, a venture-backed social shopping company. Philip was entrepreneur in residence at venture capital firm Charles River Ventures, and is the bestselling author of F'd Companies: Spectacular Dot-com Flameouts (Simon & Schuster). He's an active angel investor, advises several companies, and serves on the Syracuse University Board of Advisors. For fun, Philip makes iPhone apps and plays heavy metal drums. He lives in San Francisco, California, USA.
