Patrick is a currently a UX designer for the Deloitte Digital Studio in downtown Denver. His career path can be called many things, but meandering might be most applicable. Over the past decade, he's worked as a sports writer, educator and entrepreneur. As an educator, he worked with students between 12-58 years old in the public, nonprofit and private sectors, including for a software development boot camp that he helped launch & run that helped its 85 graduates start their careers as developers. Over the years, he would design & layout newspaper pages and build websites for his classrooms. At first he just thought that was part of the job, but later he figured out that design was part of his professional DNA. Out of that creative outlet came the birth of his small, independent business - Sailor Sky Design - where he helped dozens of small businesses improve their online presence, branding, web content, social media and overall awesomeness. This paved the way for pulling all of these diverse skill sets and experiences together by completing General Assembly's UX Design Immersive program in the fall of 2016, which had a direct impact on him landing his current full time UX job.
