Working as a barista before getting into the world of UX was a part of my career transition, and it taught me how to develop human connection and empathy with people who seek joy in a coffee cup. My curiosity about human behaviour has always fed my UX research and design. As I approach problem-solving with human-centred thinking, I'm able to use foundational approaches to solve problems in multiple ways.
I've always been interested in people and my experience in advertising contributes to a deep empathy with the user. In advertising, I have experience with several digital advertising agencies working with clients, including Absolut Vodka, Ballantine’s Scotch Whisky, Zespri, Lego Education. When I decided to specialise in UX Design, I conducted comprehensive user research for clients in various industries, from online stockbroking to education. As a UX/UI designer at Oneflare, a two-sided marketplace which connects verified local business with customers who want to outsource tasks, I constantly observe how users interact with the platform and aim to deliver the best experience that helps them get their job done without hassle.
While my core skills are now in human-centred thinking, having a home barista (i.e. me!) is perfect luxury.
