Michelle started her adventures with data as an Economist. After a couple of years working on time series models she figured there had to be more to the data world and discovered Data Science. In 2013, she started working as a Data Scientist at Wayfair in Boston. During her time there there she worked on personalization and recommendation problems and all things email marketing. Life and opportunities called her to the big Northwest and she has recently embarked on an adventure with Amazon. Currently she focuses on managing Analytics inside the Private Brands Fashion team. Michelle has a passion for all things data, including Data Science, Business Intelligence and Data Engineering.
Michelle was born and raised in San Juan, PR and Spanish is her first language. She has an Aussie named Samurai, a 22-pound cat named Ninja (though he's very slow) and spends her free time reading comic books and writing queries.
She holds a Bachelors in International Affairs and Economics, a Master of Art in Economics and a Master of Science in Predictive Analytics.
