Michael Petty
Michael Petty is a seasoned software developer with a passion for teaching. He wrote his first computer program on a TRS-80 and saved the script on a cassette tape. Because that's how you did it at the time.
After 16 years as a developer and manager at CNET.com, he refactored his work environment from an office to a classroom. He loves sharing his knowledge and experience with new developers. He excels at breaking down complex Software Engineering concepts to easily understandable lectures. As an instructor, nothing brings him more joy than seeing a student achieve that 'AHA' moment.
When not in the classroom, he loves to get outdoors: hiking, running, or gardening. At home, he's either in the kitchen baking or in the workshop building something.
