He’d been taking electronics apart and putting them back together since he was a kid, so a career in writing computer programs seemed like a natural progression for Michael Berger. Since earning his degree in computer engineering at the University of Illinois, he has tackled a number of programming jobs. Right out of school, he wrote options trading algorithms at a high frequency trading firm. That led him to his next position at a bank, where he wrote software that enabled clients to place trades all over the world. These days, he is a consultant at Clarity Consulting, where he writes custom software for clients of all sizes. He makes it a point to stay current on computer security issues. Also, Michael is the guy who can translate tech talk into everyday language, so creative types and entrepreneurs can learn to communicate with web developers.
