Mel Jackson is a User Experience and Marketing Designer living in San Diego. A recent transplant from the Bay Area where she spent 6 years designing for consumer products and Saas companies, Mel helps companies of all sizes create meaningful, intuitive and polished experiences that change people's lives for the better. A self-described design nerd, Mel lead the Design team at iFixit, a multi-lingual online repair platform that aims to reduce e-waste, save money, and teach engineering.
Prior to iFixit, Mel served various design & marketing roles at CreativeLive, an online platform that makes creative education accessible by broadcasting live classes to an international audience. Additionally, Mel gives presentations and workshops on design and typography across the state for organizations including Global Service Jam, Young Storytellers Foundation, and General Assembly.
Mel earned her BA in Art and Art History from UC Davis. She is committed to creative education, social activism, and inclusive design.
