Mel deVivar (she/her) is the first in her family to graduate from college in the U.S. and is a daughter to immigrant parents from the Philippines. Mel's at her best when she uses her superpower of advocating with and on the behalf of underrepresented populations, particularly those who identify as first-generation people of color. Recently, Mel pivoted from working 12 years in higher education to Harness_U, an ed-tech social impact start-up company. As the Head of Programs, her work focuses on developing virtual engagement and training to help young adults acquire the social and skills to land their next jobs.
Mel believes that harnessing our cultural background, identities, and our lived experiences can help us build resilience and navigate the work world as a community.
