Matthew Morris is a Sr. Application Development Engineer at Amazon. He began working with data in 2001 with Costco Wholesales Data Warehousing team and began sharing his love of data through corporate training and boot camps dating back to 2005. Matthew has worked on Enterprise-wide projects that blend data needs and information systems needs and always connects it back to the human element. Matthew went back to school in 2018 and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Data Management and analytics, and his Master of Science degree in Data Analytics. He has helped develop and lead two data science teams both at Costco and Amazon. Today he is building an information system end to end in AWS primarily because he is always curious, always learning, and always loves sharing what he has learned.

Matthew has been a special speaker at the University of Washington, Seattle Pacific University, Bellevue College, and Wenatchee Valley College. He began working at General Assembly in 2016 and worked with leadership on changes to the Data Analytics coursework and offered Python courses to Data analytics students who wanted a bit extra.

His areas of application have been, Legal, Human resources, Merchandising, Financial Planning and Analytics, Accounting and Membership programs.
