After I completed my Master's at Indiana University, I focused my PhD studies on the prediction of social media behavior.
During this time I was interested in obtaining first-hand real world social media experience, accepting a position with a social media analytics company.
Through academic research and real-world data analysis, the ingredients for social media success were obvious, resulting in my founding of a social media marketing firm.
I then explored opportunities in the corporate world, and soon accepted a social media and digital marketing position at Intercontinental Exchange (the Atlanta based company that owns the New York Stock Exchange).
Working on the NYSE social strategy, it quickly became clear that our social story wasn’t about the NYSE, it was about the 2,400+ companies that list on the NYSE. Once we switched our marketing focus to our listed companies, our followers and engagement grew exponentially.
There is no one specific recipe for social media marketing success, but through a thorough understanding of all social media platforms and marketing, a strategy that works for any company in any industry can be successfully created and executed.
