Mark Newell

Front-End Engineer, ÄKTA

It has been five years since Mark left the the state of true pizza and buffalo wings (New York) for the land of hot dogs with neon green relish. Currently, he's a Front End Engineer at ÄKTA, a Chicago-based digital experience and engagement consultancy. His experience ranges from developing mobile responsive marketing sites in Drupal and Wordpress, to engineering web apps in AngularJS for enterprise clients. His previous experience in design informs his development philosophy, and he lives for the moment where a design comes to life as something truly usable.

Outside of his professional life, Mark is a co-host of the long-running genre podcast Bloody Good Horror, as well as the managing editor, developer, and cat herder for the show's website, BloodyGoodHorror.com. When downtime presents itself, you'll often find Mark cursing the New York Magazine crossword puzzle, playing Hearthstone online, or trying in vain to sample all of Chicago's endless beer and meat combinations.
