Marisa Seifan is the CEO and Co-Founder of Honeybrains, a family-owned restaurant and café dedicated to brain health and wellness. Marisa views the restaurant sector through a new and exciting lens. She is driven by a desire to help as many people as possible live longer and healthier lives. She and her family members started Honeybrains to translate the growing scientific research about brain and body health into enjoyable foods, drinks, natural supplements, and related products.
Marisa is passionate about empowering individuals with products and knowledge that can improve their quality of life, as well as reduce their risk of long-term brain degeneration or disease (e.g., dementia and Alzheimer’s). To the extent more individuals make such choices, communities grow healthier. In addition, more people being able to conveniently access, enjoy, and thereby live a brain-healthy lifestyle promotes a healthier planet.
Marisa is also committed to giving back to the community. Under her leadership, Honeybrains has partnered with several non-profits to raise awareness and funds for various important causes. Some of these non-profits include, Every Women Counts, Womankind, Yamba Malawi, Unicef, and Robin Hood. Marisa is an active participant in the communities in which Honeybrains cafes are located. She is a Board Member of the Noho Business Improvement District and a member of the marketing committee of the Flatiron Business Improvement District.
Marisa is married and a proud mother to three young boys. Marisa resides in NYC.
Prior to opening Honeybrains, Marisa served for approximately 10 years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of New York where her roles included Chief of General Crimes and Deputy Chief of Public Integrity. During her tenure as a federal prosecutor, Marisa led and supervised numerous complex investigations and prosecutions, including various types of fraud, corruption, racketeering, obstruction of justice and tax crimes.
