Lyam currently holds a Masters of Arts in Latin American & Caribbean Studies from SUNY Albany. Through her education, she developed a passion for student affairs and expanding access to education. Shortly after, she started work as a college retention specialist, where she helped students from underrepresented communities build a pathway to graduation. Today, Lyam has expanded her reach into adult education, working at General Assembly as an admissions advisor. Lyam connects and guides students through major career and life changes in the technology space. Although it can sound overwhelming, Lyam’s favorite part of her role is to help students realize their passions and strengths and encourage them to take the steps needed to pursue work that they love.
