Liang Wu is a machine learning data scientist working in the team of Airbnb Experiences, a new product of Airbnb, currently focusing on core search ranking and recommender systems of local tours and activities. He previously worked on product and web search engines at Etsy and Microsoft. He serves as a program committee member for major AI and Information retrieval conferences such as AAAI, SIGIR, CIKM, KDD, WSDM, and BIGDATA. Liang received his Ph.D. from Arizona State University, and during his academic career, he published over 30 papers in conferences including AAAI, CIKM, ICDM, ICWSM, SIGIR, and WSDM, authored 2 book chapters, achieved 3rd place of KDD Cup, and filed/got granted 7 patents in China and USA. He was also a tutorial speaker at ICDM'17 and SBP'16. His thesis research concentrated on detecting misinformation and building robust machine learning models with noisy data and inaccurate labels.
