Léland Shirley is a software engineer with a passion for teaching and helping others achieve their professional endeavors. A native to California, he has recently begun a career in technology and has transitioned from a career as a culinary professional with over a dozen years of combined experience in retail and restaurant management, and in culinary direction. As a Software Engineering Immersive Graduate with a non-traditional background, Leland brings a relatable experience to classrooms at General Assembly, as well as enthusiasm for explaining code in a way beginners can understand.
