San Diego
Lee's been a UX designer since before it was called UX. He went to Carnegie-Mellon University for Human-Computer Interaction and Information Decision Systems (with a minor in psychology), graduating in 2000. By '98 he was employed as an Information Architect, and he went on to hold various escalating titles in the UX/IA realm for the next decade at a wide-ranging set of employers: a global agency (Sapient), a global household name (AOL), a consumer startup (Eventful), and a technical enterprise (Teradata).
From there, Lee moved into independent work, also adding graphic design to his portfolio. In 2015 he started Cozy, a digital marketing and design shop dedicated to Rational Design — the idea that we should have to fight to include design scope, rather than squishing every client through some idealized design process. Through this approach, we hope to see more designers touching more end products via more concentrated efforts, which will do the world some good.
