Before designing screens and interfaces, I was a visual manager for retail environments. A large part of my work involved understanding how customers would behave and interact with the elements in my stores. Through observation and feedback, I was able to uncover issues in my approach that weren’t so obvious from the start. It allowed me see opportunities from a new perspective and gave me the chance to create better, more enjoyable experiences.
My instinct for design thinking and empathic problem-solving in the workplace is what eventually set me on the path to user experience design. It aligned all of the things I was passionate about as a creative leader with my love for tech, simplicity, and visual storytelling.
