Inspired by her father-in-law's melanoma scare, Kyoko joined forces with renowned dermatologist and surgeon, Dr. Jean-Christophe (JC) Lapiere, to found SkinIO, an innovative service that powers full-body skin cancer screening on a mobile device. Before joining SkinIO, Kyoko co-founded Nexops, Inc., a boutique technology design and development consultancy whose clients included Sutter Health, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Merial. She also headed up Nexops' Venture Services program where she worked with partner entrepreneurs to launch new technology start-ups. She has a Bachelor of Science degree cum laude in Biomedical Engineering from Harvard University.
