Kristin is a Software Crafter II, Group Lead and Chair of the Diversity Culture and Inclusion (DCI) Committee at 8th Light, Inc. The DCI team co-creates the strategy and delivery of the company-wide initiatives to strengthen diversity and inclusion at 8th Light. 8th Light seeks to improve software quality by not only building sustainable, scalable software for our clients, but also by mentoring engineers across the industry in the disciplined application of best practices for software sustainability.

Kristin has worked as an independent artist/designer, 3D CAD drafter/modeler, AEC industry technical consultant and a web based e-learning and software developer. Within those roles, she has prioritized CSR through a handful of local and global projects. Kristin is an education volunteer having worked in classrooms and in special needs therapeutic environments. She has served on school boards and committees and has a special interest in differentiated learning, diverse and inclusive educational environments, and computational thinking in early childhood play.

Kristin holds a MS in Distributed Systems from The School of Computer Science, DePaul University, a BA in Architectural Studies from Department of Architecture, University of Illinois.
