Kirsten Southwell

Special Projects Interaction Designer, The Art Institute of Chicago

Kirsten is an experience designer who specializes in creating digital interactions for cultural and museum clients, both online and in physical space. She is currently holding a fellowship with the Digital Experiences team at the Art Institute of Chicago until Spring 2016. She previously worked for Second Story Interactive Studios where she created experiences for clients such as AIGA, the College Football Hall of Fame, the National Archives, and the World of Coca-Cola. Shortly after graduating from NC State University, her student work was recognized with both an Adobe Design Achievement Award (2012) and an IxDA Award (2013). Outside of the digital world, Kirsten is a textile artist, outdoor enthusiast, and an avid rockhound.
