Kavita Rao is a Senior Manager in Software Engineering supporting the Capital One Partnerships Card Technology organization in Chicago, IL.
Kavita started her career as a high school Economics teacher, but her passion for technology and innovation resulted in her attaining a Master's in Computer Science from the University of Chicago. She has 19+ years of financial service industry experience in software development and in building winning teams. She believes in empowering her team members and works tirelessly to bring the best out of them each and every day. Before Capital One, Kavita was a part of Citi Retail Services team for three years and had various roles across technology at JP Morgan for fourteen years.
Kavita joined Capital One in 2016 supporting the Cobrand and Private Label Credit Card businesses and is currently working towards modernizing and migrating an Agent Tool to the cloud. Kavita is also the co-chair of Capital One’s External Committee for their Women In Technology Chicago Chapter supporting the mission of women to ‘Get in and Stay in Tech!
Outside of Capital One, Kavita is passionate about volunteering with the Journey Care Hospice Volunteer program out of Barrington, IL. She lives in Hoffman Estates with her husband Manish, son Varun, father-in-law Dhruva, and dog Charley. Her oldest son Kunal is a Junior at Emory Goizueta school of business in Atlanta.
