Kathleen Watson is an Experience Design Strategist with more than 25 years of industry experience working with small businesses, startups and large companies, such as FileMaker, Apple, Lotus, Tandem and Ford Aerospace. Her driving approach to design involves holistic system’s thinking that considers all factors involved in understanding user needs and behaviors in designing meaningful interactive multi-platform experiences that are relevant in today’s global marketplace. As a dedicated educator, Kathleen pioneered the development of the core UX curriculum and usability lab in Web Design & New Media at the Academy of Art University. For over 10 years Kathleen has coached new UX professionals by teaching them the fundamental tools of the field: design thinking, user research, user testing, prototyping, storyboarding, information architecture, interaction and visual design. Kathleen’s passion is teaching, sharing her enthusiasm and wealth of knowledge in the field of UX. She is a Certified User Experience Professional, holds a Masters of Arts in Research Psychology from San Jose State University and is certified in Fine Art and Graphic Design from University of Santa Cruz.
