    Co-Founder and President, PowerToFly

    New York City

Katharine Zaleski is the Co-Founder and President of PowerToFly, the global platform that matches businesses with women who can work from anywhere. Since launching in August, 2014, PowerToFly has enabled over 70,000 women across 143 countries to connect with Fortune 500 companies and fast-growing startups.

Katharine got her big break at the age of twenty-four when she was hired to be the sixth employee of the Huffington Post where she had a front row seat as the site’s news editor for its first four and a half years. In November 2009, while going through a traditionalist period, she took a role at The Washington Post as its Executive Producer and Head of Digital News Products. After two and a half years, she realized she missed being at a startup and returned to New York to become the Founding Managing Editor of NowThis, the network that makes videos for millennials who get their news on Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook.

After years of wondering whether she’d ever find work-life balance (she’s still searching for it), she started to write about the subject. Last March she wrote a piece in Fortune Magazine apologizing to all the mothers she once worked with. It was the magazine’s most popular article of 2015, beating any and all news about Donald Trump.
