Karen Tan is the founder of Pocket Projects, a creative development consultancy and management company which conceptualizes and manages niche development projects. These projects combine sensitivity to architectural heritage with a modern design aesthetic, informed by evolving social trends and new uses of space. The company likes to work with overlooked areas and disused old buildings. Design and the community are two main priorities in their approach to every project. Its multidisciplinary background enables it to achieve both creative solutions and commercial viability in all its projects. Having completed the award-winning Lorong 24A Shophouse Series project in Singapore, Pocket Projects is currently working on projects in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
