Kalia Garrido is the co­founder of Skylarq Digital, a User Experience Design and Software Development agency located in Broomfield, Co. Skylarq serves clients from a variety of verticals, including the up­and­coming Cannabis industry, in the areas of User Experience, Digital Strategy, Web Design and Software Development.

After working for many years on the business side of technical companies, Kalia felt herself itching to start up something of her own. So, in 2015, she left her position as the Senior Manager of Digital Products at Vail Resorts to start Skylarq with her husband Nolan. They now employ a team of 6 people on the collective mission is to bring big­business expertise to startups and smaller technical ventures. Kalia passionately believes that there are two underlying truths to any business in 2017 ­ 1. UX is paramount to every project and 2. every business should see themselves, in some capacity, as a tech company.

Kalia is originally from the East Coast, born and raised in Boston, Ma and then moving down to swampy South Florida. She is absolutely thrilled to have escaped the urban jungle to join the ranks of non­native, lifestyle­seeking, craft­beer drinking Colorodans. Kalia is the mother of an 11­year old boy and 8­month old baby girl (hows that for a split) and credits her ability to balance her roles as a business owner and mother with copious amounts caffeine and regularly scheduled happy hours.
