Justin Pounders has built a career around computing, data and their applications to real-world problems. He has worked as a simulation expert for the nuclear navy and has published numerous papers in the field of computational science and engineering. His primary technical interests lie at the intersection of numerical algorithms, high performance computing and their applications to data-driven problems.
In addition to research and engineering, he has always been engaged in teaching. He started teaching english as a second a language in high school and college, but has since served as an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh, an instructor at the Bettis Reactor Engineering School and a tenure-track professor at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
Outside of work Justin enjoys biking, woodworking, reading and spending time with his family. He holds a PhD from Georgia Tech in nuclear engineering.
