Jun Yu is a data analyst for Wallex Technologies, a fintech company specializing in B2B payments between SME companies. He leads the company's data analytics efforts to uncover data-driven insights and collaborates closely with product, operations and engineering teams to optimize and automate work processes and report generation. He was previously from a banking and finance background, working at DBS Bank as a relationship manager. While this previous role was primarily sales, it was in this role that he got to experience, firsthand, the power of data in helping to gain a competitive edge - in this case, uncovering consumer insights and making appropriate product recommendations. Ultimately, this spurred his interest for data science and he has managed to successfully pivot to his current position.

He was a graduate from National University of Singapore, majoring in Economics, but also participated in General Assembly's 12-week Data Science Immersive course - first as a student, and thereafter as a teaching assistant. Away from work, he engages in his passion, which is sports (volleyball and football) and exercising.
