In a past life, she earned her Ph.D in astronomy by exploring the history of the early universe through the study of the oldest observable stars in the Galaxy. She attended Hackbright Academy where she met some amazing women technologists. She is currently an organizer for PyLadies SF and the diversity chair for the SciPy Conference.
